Engineering

The claw head takes the beating so the branch and the fruit do not.

Everything on a shaker is replaceable. What decides whether you sell the crop or bin it is where the vibration lands — on a padded head, at a frequency the fruit can take. That is the part we over-build. The last twenty years went into it.

  1. 01

    Frequency, not force

300 to 4000 vibrations a minute, set by what is hanging on the branch. A ripe olive lets go at a setting that leaves the green ones on the tree — which is the whole difference between selective picking and stripping.

  2. 02

A padded head, not a hook

The claw is cushioned so the impact spreads over bark and fruit skin instead of a pinch point. On thin-skinned crops that is the difference between a load that ships and a load that goes for juice.

  3. 03

A pack that still works at −20 °C

Standard lithium packs lose most of their capacity in the cold, which is why winter seabuckthorn was picked by hand. Our cold-weather pack is rated to −20 °C, so the harvest does not stop when the temperature does.

  4. 04

One set of spares covers all three series

Same motor family, same batteries, same claw heads, same trigger module. Your mechanic learns one machine; your shed holds one set of spares.

Crops

Name the crop. We set the machine for it.

Frequency, amplitude and claw type are set at the factory for the crop you name. Tell us the crop and the tree habit and the machine arrives already tuned — not with a manual telling you to experiment.

Olive
Mediterranean groves · 1.5–4.5 m poles
Coffee
Selective ripe-cherry picking · low amplitude
Pistachio, walnut, apricot
Nut and stone fruit · stiffest head, highest frequency
Seabuckthorn, wolfberry, cornel
Thorny shrubs · low frequency, padded claw
Hawthorn, jujube, haskap
Small dense fruit · 0–3000 /min
Cherry, plum
Soft fruit · reduced amplitude, cushioned head

In the grove

Beating poles break next year's branches. This does not.

In most Mediterranean groves the harvest is still a pole and a pair of arms, and the grove pays for it twice: once in the labour bill, and again in the branches that get broken on the way down. A padded head on a set frequency takes the ripe fruit and leaves the wood — so the tree you harvest this year is the tree you harvest next year.

Why the numbers are what they are

Hand picking is half the cost of the crop. It is the only number we attack.

Manual harvesting takes 50 to 70 % of what it costs to produce fruit. Our machines are built to take five to eight times the fruit per person per day and roughly 80 % out of the labour bill — a machine that pays for itself in the first season is the whole product argument.

“We spent twenty years on one question: why does a grower with a good crop and a bad labour market lose the harvest? The answer is never the price of the machine. It is that the machine has to be light enough to carry up a slope, honest enough to say which crops it cannot do, and fixable by the person who bought it.”

Service & parts

The parts that wear are the parts we keep on the shelf.

Claw heads, batteries, cables and trigger modules are the four things that wear out. We keep all four in stock, ship them by air, and send the video that shows the swap — most swaps take a single spanner and under ten minutes.

  • 12-month warranty on the machine, 6 months on the collection umbrella
  • Claw heads, batteries, cables and trigger modules held in stock
  • Remote diagnosis by video call, in the language you write to us in
  • OEM and ODM: your colour, your brand, your packaging from 50 units
  • Minimum order 10 units · 15–30 days production · samples available

Company

One factory, twenty years, two hundred thousand machines.

Inner Mongolia NongYuan Technology has been building fruit harvesting machinery since 2006. Six engineers, ten machining tools and a field test plot next to the workshop — every machine we sell has been taken apart and rebuilt in the field.
